Hello, I'm Katie 👋
I'm a recent computer science graduate and this is my online portfolio. After two decades in sales, management, and marketing, I developed an interest in technology and how it presents in our daily lives. I seek to utilize my understanding of the customer experience to create websites that anticipate user needs and captivate their imagination. My hobbies include philosophy, art, world travel, economics and holistic medicine. I use these as lenses to view design through and create experiences that have depth and meaning.
I'm endlessly curious about the world and consistently seek new ways of understanding. I approach challenges with honesty, integrity and open communication. I believe design should provide functional quality as well as inspiring beauty. I strive to tell stories through web-based platforms that are personable, approachable and open for individual interpretation. Technology should not divorce us from reality but instead, provide an authentic connection between ourselves and the product. One that enriches our mind, stimulates our growth and embraces us in community.

As a lifetime learner, I'm always exploring new ways to improve my skills and create more immersive designs. I'm experienced in HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, MySQL, C, Three.js and WebGL. Take a look at some of my work and reach out with any questions or opportunities.
I built this site using mostly HTML and CSS. JavaScript is used for the toggle menu and and PHP for the message submission form. Font Awesome is used for the icons and Google Font for the text. It is fully responsive and scalable.
